WHAT IS ISR?
Founded in 1966, Infant Swimming Resource (ISR), with it's Self-Rescue® program, is nationally recognized as the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. With over 45 years of research and development, highly trained certified Instructors committed to safety, and a proven history of success, parents can rest assured that their children are receiving the best possible instruction in the world today.
ISR believes pool fences, supervision, and pool alarms are important parts of a necessary multi-layered approach to drowning prevention. However, traditional lines of defense break down, and the over 4,000 drowning deaths per year bear a grim testament to the fact that traditional approaches are missing a key component: the child. ISR’s core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy and our over 300,000 ISR graduates and over 800 documented survival stories are proof that children can save themselves.
Children are curious, capable, and have an uncanny ability to overcome obstacles like pool fences; at ISR we take that ability and teach them skills to potentially save themselves if they find themselves in the water alone.

Your instructor has the same concerns about her child as you do about yours. Being a resident of Charlotte, NC, and having so many opportunities to go to the beach and join neighbors in a pool, she is aware of the tragic stories of infants' drowning. Already an occupational therapist, she cares about people and their well-being. Becoming a mother took those concerns to a whole new level. So Faith took the ISR course. In addition to having her masters degree in Occupational Therapy, she is a certified ISR instructor. You and your child (children) are in good hands with Faith.

I signed my four-year-old son up for ISR because, after months and months of traditional swim lessons, we saw very little progress. I also wanted him to not only be able to swim but also float for survival and gain confidence in the water. Within two weeks of ISR with Faith, we saw the most incredible improvement. He was no longer scared to put his face in the water and he went from trying to "run" in the water in a vertical position to learning how to properly swim toward the edge of the pool. Ever since he was a baby, he's been averse to having water in his face but now he's transformed into a kid who loves to swim... but swim SAFELY thanks to the swim-float-swim technique Faith instilled in him. Faith's ability to communicate with him in a gentle but firm manner was so incredibly successful for our little guy and I cannot recommend Faith and her ISR services more!
